Samantha, affectionately known as Miss Sam at her school, started her dance training at the tender age of three at the Sylvie Henry School of Dance in London. Her initial training fostered a deep love for dance and instilled a newfound confidence. Years later, when Sue Price took over the school, renaming it Kaleidoscope Theatre Arts, Sam realised her true calling was teaching—a revelation often credited to having outstanding teachers.
By the age of 14, Sam was assisting in various dance genres, familiarising herself with the RAD and ISTD syllabi under the mentorship of Sue Price and other esteemed teachers. Excelling with an A* in GCSE dance and an A at A-Level, she went on to earn her ISTD Tap and Modern teaching qualifications with the tutelage of ISTD examiners Penny Meekings and Linda Sweetzer, as well as studying a wide variety of other genres with industry professionals and performing in a number of shows. Furthering her education at the RAD, she completed her Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies and achieved Registered Teacher Status, receiving her certificate from Dame Darcey Bussell DBE upon graduation.
With over 15 years of teaching experience and a consistent 100% pass rate for her students, Sam maintains that dance education extends beyond exams. She is dedicated to fostering progress in all forms and encourages each student to embrace the opportunities that resonate with them.
Sam remains an enthusiastic performer, singing with a group known as The Fat Pack, and participating in pantomimes, plays, and musicals with The Chameleons Amateur Dramatics Society. She aspires to instill her passion for performance in her students, as well as emphasising the importance of technique and, above all, the sheer joy of dancing!
